The Beginning of the Journey to Big Sur....

... on the way to Big Sur...

This is what we're looking at...no touch -up. raw.

The two of us...

We wish you a Merry Christmas and may the true spirit of the season last for more than a trip to Nordies and then Hawaii... There is so much to be grateful for. Counting our friends as blessings... The ones we talk with and those who are gone. There is more to this than meets the eye. Here's to you and yours. May you find the time to enjoy what really matters...
off Laureles Grade there is this hill...ok a few of them. The views are special
My
. Dad is at the Treehouse now. He's reading "How the Swans Came to the Lake" in the living room (is there any other kind?).

..and now the new deal.......

If I were young (and 55 is not really), I'd wonder seriously about this world that is forced on us. I felt uncomfortable for so long and never knew why. On some level, I knew that most of us are sad because we have never learned to be honest with ourselves about our need to be happy. We feel one thing, alter our thinking about how we feel and then say what we hope others will want to hear. We really need each other and spend a lot of our energy in futile attempts to prove we are independent. We do awful things to each other.. War. It's the little things that knock us out everyday. 10,000 things. All interdependent. All important. If you change yourself, you change the world. Please Do it. Now. It's getting late. We need you.

the view from our deck in the morning.. Santa Lucia mountains across carmel valley with the fog resting in a canyon.. looks a little like snow... It's 65 degrees and Christmas Eve... Same wish for years: May we find the true meaning of peace and love. Now.

Best Sellers in Computers

Pictures of Big Sur... near the "old" Treehouse... we've taken the Treehouse to Prunedale and now are a ways away. Pictures keep us close to the most magnificent meeting of land and water in the world..The drive to Big Sur can really help one figure it all out...

Sinead O'Connor

Perhaps she should have thought more carefully before ripping the pope's picture in half, but she found something strong inside with this one....It's the music.. roots.

A True Jazz Cat- Patricia Barber

A true jazzcat... Patricia Barber.. If you don't know her start with.. Well...Cafe Blue and Modern Cool are a good place to start and the Mobile Fidelity SACDs are all very good including Nightclub and Verse. You are warned. Some history here as well. Amazon Link.

Thomas Merton

Read one of Thomas Merton's books. People fight because they prefer possessions to people... We suffer in direct proportion to our attachment to things....hmmmm. I like things. Think this is the entrance to Gethsemane. No other God but....

What's Going On Down Under?

there are always more to things than meets the eye... and it makes me wonder.. if ignorance is bliss then how come most folks aren't happy?
